Humble beginnings
The beginnings of Humble go back to 2018, when founder Jorren Teertstra teamed up with his design friends at APE Amsterdam. With a shared love of design and a dislike of messy wires powering their electronic devices, they set out to create a modern alternative to the ultimate mood lighting: candles. The result was Humble One, a wireless lamp with a long-lasting battery and a signature bulb that brought the same warm glow as a candle, but far more convenient. Humble One quickly became a favourite in homes and hospitality spaces. Its approachable design and simple functionality inspired the name ‘Humble’ — a reflection of both the brand’s modest beginnings and the product’s inviting character.. What started as a single design has grown into a full range of wireless lights, now found in restaurants, hotels, cruise ships, and homes around the world. What has never changed is the philosophy behind every design. Humble lights are built to last with high quality materials, replaceable spare parts and smart wireless technology, making them both sustainable and perfectly suited to the demands of hospitality.

From our studio in Amsterdam’s Houthaven district, we design and develop cordless design lights that combine Dutch aesthetics with global hospitality standards. Each model is created in close collaboration with our trusted production partners, who share our commitment to durability and quality. By selecting only resilient materials and long-lasting components, we ensure that every Humble light is built to stand the test of time, delivering reliable cordless hospitality lighting for hotels, restaurants, cruise ships, stores and homes worldwide.
The Humble Lights team
What began as a small group of designers with a shared idea has grown into a dedicated team of ten colleagues. Together, we bring creativity, technical expertise and a passion for wireless hospitality lighting to everything we do. From concept to finished product our goal is to develop wireless design lights that are both stylish and sustainable. As Humble continues to grow, our mission remains the same: to create lighting that enriches atmosphere, is easy to use and built to last.
