At Humble, we're always working to refine the details that make our lamps easier to work with in daily operations. So we're excited to share that Air, Firefly and Two are now entering their next generation (V2). This is the first you'll be hearing of it, so we wanted to take a moment to walk you through what's changing and why. We've also put together a document with extensive, clear and complete information on this update. Download full details
In brief
  • Lamps: Humble Air, Firefly and Two are moving to a new generation (V2). Prices and visual design remain virtually unchanged, but the USB-C port has been removed.
Charging now takes place exclusively via the wireless magnetic base.
  • Charging: All new charging accessories are built to support Snap Charging, offering secure and automatic alignment. The magnetic Snap Charging system was already introduced with V1.5, without a new article number. If you’ve ordered recently, your lamp may already have this feature.
  • Accessories: Several new chargers and accessories are being introduced, replacing several current models. See the product overview for details.
  • Ordering: New article numbers and EAN barcodes apply to the next-generation lights and all new (charging) accessories. So ordering systems will need to be updated accordingly.
What is changing

The heart of this update is charging. Until now, our lamps could be charged both wirelessly and via USB-C. Going forward, charging happens exclusively through the wireless magnetic base. A small technical shift, but one that makes the daily routine simpler and more consistent for the teams who handle these lamps every service. One direct consequence is that a charging cable is no longer included in the box (see chapter 2. Lamp updates).

This is also a good moment to mention something that has always been true, but is now more relevant than ever: a Humble Charging Dock has never come included as standard. It is purchased separately and we'd recommend every client orders one alongside their V2 lamps so they're ready to use from the moment they arrive. It is possible to offer the V2 lamps as a bundle with the Charging Dock Single, but that decision and the responsibility to communicate it clearly (whether in-store or in an online product description) sits with the seller.

Beyond charging, very little changes. The price remains the same. Visually, the lamps stay almost identical to the current range, aside from a more refined look. The USB-C port is gone and the indicator lights now sit seamlessly within the silicone ring at the base of the lamp.

A gradual rollout

This transition won't happen overnight. It will roll out gradually, model by model, only once existing stock for that specific model has been fully depleted. In practice, this means there's no need to hold back on ordering in the meantime. Most of what you order now will still be fulfilled from current stock, just as before (see chapter 1. Understanding the updates).

A refreshed range of accessories

As this update takes shape, a refreshed range of accessories will also become available, built for exactly this kind of large-scale, everyday use. A few current accessories, including the Current single charger, Six Charger, Wireless Charger Six Large, Stackable versions and Remote classic, will not be restocked once current supplies run out. Some will be replaced immediately, while others remain available while stock lasts (see chapter 4. Charger & accessories updates).

In their place, a set of newer alternatives is being introduced: Charging Dock Single, Charging Dock Six, Stack Set, Charging Cart, Cable Box, Table Magnet and Remote Control with expanded functionality. Each has been built to work seamlessly with the new lamps, while remaining largely compatible with existing equipment.

Understanding the versions

A quick note on the versions themselves, as it helps to know what's in circulation. V1 is the current generation. V1.5 is a transitional version already in circulation, combining elements of both V1 and V2. It has a magnetic base for Snap Charging, but is visually near-identical to V1 and shares the same article numbers and EAN barcodes. V2 is the next generation, introducing the changes described above along with entirely new article numbers and EAN barcodes. The V2 lamps base carries a little more weight, so shipping packaging will be updated slightly (see chapter 3. How to identify each version).

Since V2 lamps and all new accessories carry new article numbers and EANs, these will need to be added to ordering systems once active for each account (see chapter 5. Article number & barcode information).
